The Walking Dead

‘Fight The Dead. Fear The Living.’

When a TV series is half way through its 5th season and has already been renewed for a 6th one, you know they are doing something right. The walking dead originally started out as a comic book series, which sounds great, but if you are like me and can’t be bothered to read comics, or they simply don’t interest you, then the show is there to grip and entertain you within the first 5 minutes. The Walking Dead is based around a ‘zombie’ apocalypse (hence the name) featuring a group of survivors who are determined to do exactly that - survive. I’m not going to go into details as I don’t want to spoil it if you haven’t seen it yet and are planning to. The nail biting, hair raising moments will have you on edge, but you won’t be running anywhere, your eyes will be glued to the screen! So if zombies, fighting, and some really tense and interesting storylines are your thing, then so is The Walking Dead. So I suggest you check it out if you haven’t already!

For those of you who may already watch TWD then you will have realised how brave the producers have been getting recently when it comes to how much gore goes into some scenes. This in fact has brought TWD’s ratings through the roof, there season 5 premiere having over 17.3 millions views, therefore making it the most watched drama series telecast in basic cable history! With The Walking Dead you never know what is going to happen next, and even if you think you know, you don’t know…so if you like watching things that are not clichéd and obvious, then that is another reason you should have a watch. If you have sky then it is on every Monday at 9pm on Fox, but the midseason finale has just gone so the rest of the season will start up again on February 9th 2015. You can also find it on Netflix, Demand, online, or you could just buy the box set from the shop.
